Graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2009. She completed her specialization in Gastroenterology in 2019 at the Queen Giovanna-ISUL University Hospital, where she also earned her PhD after defending a dissertation on antiviral treatment for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma under the guidance of Prof. Yordan Genov, MD, PhD. She has completed specialized courses in liver diseases in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, and the UK. She was selected as one of the best doctors in Bulgaria in the field of Gastroenterology in a study conducted by Darik Radio.

Biography
Dr. Gerdzhikova is an Assistant Professor at the Clinic of Gastroenterology at the Department of Gastroenterology at Queen Giovanna-ISUL University Hospital. She conducts clinical rotations for students in both Bulgarian and English. From 2010 to 2014, she served as a resident physician in the Department of Gastroenterology with a hematology sector at the Knyaginya Klementina Hospital in Sofia. She is currently part of the specialist team at Haelan Care - Bulgaria Blvd.
She speaks English.
