Dr. Shumkova has been practicing and working for one and a half years in Belgium at OLV Cardiovascular Center, Aalst, Belgium, where she was specializing in imaging methods, invasive procedures performed under the control of transesophageal echocardiography. Currently she works in the Clinic of Cardiology at the University Hospital Aleksandrovska and is part of the team of Medical center Haelan Care 3, Sofia.

Her professional interests are in the field of non-invasive imaging methods for evaluation of cardiovascular diseases, diagnosis and treatment of arterial hypertension, ischemic heart disease, valve diseases, rhythm and conduction disorders, heart failure, dyslipidemias, peripheral arterial disease.
